Please, if you really care about your pet, please take detailed photos and write down your pets unique identifying marks.
This will make it easier if your pet somehow escapes to identify ownership in a dispute and identifying while trapping.
Example Situation:
A cat had escaped from a ladies carrier in her car.
I was asked to look for it and trap it.
An unknown cat showed up at one of our colonies where she had lost her cat, and it wasnt ear tipped. Therefore I had trapped it.
2 of 3 family members identified it as NOT being her cat.
If this cat was recovered from being neutered, he would of been released back to the colony.
This is exactly why it is important to know your cats identfying features and to relay it to the rescue group.
A photo is a great help too.
Fortunately, the owner positively identified the cat and he will be returning to his home.
